On this platform you can ask a native Spanish speaker anything. HiNative is a language learning question and answer app. You can also look up the conjugation of a verb, in several tenses, which is very helpful for Spanish students. And if you know me, you know I’m a stickler for pronunciation. When you look up the meaning of a word, you can hear its pronunciation by tapping the horn icon next to it. The other thing I love about SpanishDict is the pronunciation feature. And by building your vocabulary, you get one step closer to fluency! What matters here is that I learned a new and very cool sounding word in Spanish. And that’s not what matters here…whether or not I will ever use opossum in Spanish. Will I ever need to say opossum in Spanish? Probably not, but you never know. Take today’s word, for example, tlacuache. Everyday there is a new and cool word that I didn’t learn in Spanish class. Based on your profile, HelloTalk will connect you to a list of people who speak the language you are looking to learn. But if she (or he) is HelloTalk user, then she wants to learn a language too! So here’s how it works…you create a profile detailing the language you want to learn and the language you are proficient in. They are willing and excited to help you learn Spanish. It’s an awesome language exchange app where you can connect with native Spanish speakers from around the world. HelloTalk is probably one of my favorite free apps to learn Spanish. And when you’re busy and on a budget, there’s nothing better then $free.99! In fact all of the apps I’ll share with you are free. If they aren’t free, they’re usually pretty cheap. The other thing I love about apps is that lots of them are free. Rather than following a curriculum that may not fit your needs or learning style, you can choose the app that best fits you. Language learning apps are also great because you get ownership in the learning process. There are so many other ways to learn Spanish, so why use apps? Well first of all, they’re super convenient!
